Canonical and games publisher Introversion have teamed up to bring two hugely popular games to the Ubuntu desktop – at a special price.

For the next 30 days the innovative real-time strategy game Darwinia and iconic computer-hacking simulator Uplink can be bought from the Ubuntu Software Centre for just $9.99 US, down $2 from $12.

Introversion’s Mark Morris is enthusiastic about the addition to the Ubuntu library, saying: –

“This relationship is important for us because Ubuntu is opening the doors for our games to be distributed more widely reaching new audiences.  We hope this will be the first wave of games from Introversion that Ubuntu users see through the Ubuntu Software Centre.”
