Rockmelt, the much hyped social web browser famously backed by by Netscape founder Marc Andreessen, is heading to Linux – only not just yet.
Earlier today I asked the Rockmelt team what the plans were on a Linux build and got a response. Whilst they said there is ‘no date set for a Linux release’ they do ‘hope to be able to have one in the near future.’
Currently available as an invite-only beta* for Windows and OS X users, the Chromium-based browser is notable for its ingrained social networking features – evident by two vertical ‘social sidebars’ present in the main window at all times.
