A new docklet for Docky aims to make clipboard history management a breeze.

We have covered all manner of clipboard managers in the past – small tools for letting you keep track of things you’ve copied for pasting elsewhere – but Docky has recently gained a docklet designed specifically for the purpose. And it makes me very happy.

Why so enthusiastic over something so relatively minor? Having it on the dock makes sense; most of the time I need to ‘copy and paste’ it usually involves switching open windows so two birds, one stone*.

Part of Docky 2.1, the docklet is currently available from Docky’s development branch. Users with the Docky development PPA will find Clippy landing in an update at some point in the next few weeks.

*I do not condone the stoning of birds. Or anything for that matter.
