The second beta of the newly-forked, community-backed OpenOffice competitor LibreOffice has been released.

The update is a pretty tame affair with improved localizations, branding tweaks, bug fixes & performance improvements. A full change-log can be read here (thanks Jeremy) .

Installation

Ubuntu 32bit users wishing to install the beta can do so by adding the tuxfamily repository to their software sources.

Information on how to do that can be found @ download.tuxfamily.org/gericom/README

Once added, install via the Software Centre by searching for ‘libreoffice’.

Note: if you have previous beta releases of LibreOffice installed they will need to be uninstalled prior to upgrading.

(Thanks Gericom!)
