Small thing but very much worth being aware of – ‘Software Sources’ – a small tool for managing and controlling your enabled/disabled repositories – is no longer accessible from the System > Administration menu in Ubuntu 10.10.

Instead the option can now be found in the Ubuntu Software Centre’s ‘edit’ menu.

This move – whilst a mite annoying to menu stalwarts – does help to consolidate package and software management into one place – the intended goal of the Software Centre project.

If you still find yourself struggling to come to terms with the move don’t fret – you can re-enable the menu entry via the Menu Editor tool.

I held off mentioning this sooner simply because I thought it was a result of my accidentally deleting it, so thanks to reader taccoboss for confirming it’s the case.
