Everyone is hoping to see the elegant new Ubuntu font in use on their desktops come October 10th and, according to the font’s lead designer Bruno Maag, everything is still on course for the font to ship with Ubuntu 10.10: –
“No, there will be no font delay as far as I know. The core fonts are still on track to be released with Maverick, containing Latin A+B Ext, Greek Polytonic and Cyrillic Extended.”
This plays against a musing by Mark Shuttleworth several weeks back who mulled over deferring the inclusion until Ubuntu 11.04.
If the font is ready for Maverick it will surely add the finishing touch to what is shaping up to the be the most polished and professional looking Linux desktop ever.
