The desktop application selection for Ubuntu 10.10 was discussed in-depth this afternoon at UDS and, image application aside, there will be no major changes to the set of applications shipped by default

Ubuntu 10.10 App Line-up

  • Rhythmbox will remain the default music player for Maverick
  • Shotwell replaces F-Spot
  • Firefox will remain the default browser but Chromium will be supported like a “first class citizen”. 
  • Tomboy and Evolution will remain
  • The game line-up may see a new addition – though the specifics of this will be revealed in due course. The other games will remain.
  • No change to OpenOffice
