Gnome VLC player gets new name, PPA

A few weeks back we blogged about ‘GNOME VLC Player’, a native GTK+ spin of VLC with the mission to have a “simple” interface inside a gtk+ body.

That project has since been re-named ‘GNOME Media Player’ and has gotten its very own PPA – thus making installation a snap.

In Development

The project is still in active development so don’t expect every bell and whilst to be, well, ringing and whistling.

PPA

Currently only available for Karmic, add it to your sources using the following command: –

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome-media-player-development/development

Install:

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install gnome-media-player
