If you’ve been watching the ubuntu news space over the past year, you may have noticed a trend: ‘Quality’.
“Quality” is everywhere and the buzzword hasn’t gone away. With each cycle the quality community has stepped up and met new challenges, testing more software, more combinations of hardware and in faster iterations.
But to meet the challenges of the road towards 14.04 we as a community need everyone’s help.
We have a very unique opportunity to be a part of building an open platform of fully tested software on hardware designed and tested to run it. This is our chance to deliver a beautiful ubuntu experience as it was intended to be.
I recently blogged a series of interviews featuring several members of the quality community. We’re not a robot army; we’re folks just like you brought together by our love for Ubuntu and open source software.

What can you do to help?
There is a set of core applications being written for Ubuntu Touch. We’re helping these community developers get their applications in top shape by writing automated tests.
There’s also a new version of Mir, unity, and other packages landing as part of the development cycle, not to mention the wonderful images we produce to install Ubuntu.
If you have a willingness to learn, there is a place for you and your contributions. Testing and contributing doesn’t require any special hardware – you can use the PC you already have – even for testing and contributing towards the Ubuntu touch applications.
