Quickly add your favorite PPA’s using IntroducePPA – a small GUI tool designed to make enabling additional PPA’s as easy as pie.
Why the need? Well the default graphical method for adding PPA’s in Ubuntu is a few clicks too many for most: -..
- Open Software Centre
- Edit > Software Sources
- Enter password
- Choose ‘Other Software’ tab
- Click ‘Add’
- Enter PPA address
- Refresh
Compare this with entering two lines in a terminal and hitting return/enter you soon see why a tool like IntroducePPA was created.
The application is really easy to use. You enter a PPA, click ‘add’ and then give it a name. It also allows you to directly paste in code to install the application, such as: –
- sudo add-apt-repository ppa:example
- sudo apt-get update
- sudo apt-get install example

IntroducePPA is, despite my screenshot above, available in English as well as Spanish and Italian. Grab it @ gtk-apps.org
