An update to the beta of Valve’s SteamOS has been made available to download.
The ‘SteamOS 12/19/2013 Alchemist Beta’ release features a variety of bug fixes and improvements.
Of the more notable inclusions is an updated Intel graphics stack using Mesa 10.0.1 – which features OpenGL 3.3 support – and an Intel kernel fix that re-enables KMS support.
AMD users should be aware of “outstanding interaction problems between recent Catalyst drivers and SteamOS“. Valve say that AMD are aware of the issue and are working towards a solution.
Other fixes/changes in this update include:
- Trine 2 audio fix
- VMWare driver supports 3D passthrough
- USB auto-mounting of Steam Controller to allow firmware upgrade
- NTP time support
