overgrowth game3D action-adventure game Overgrowth is currently available to buy from Steam Early Access for just $24.99/£19.08 – a saving of 17% on the regular retail price.

Overgrowth sees gamers assume the role of a ninja rabbit – yes, a ninja rabbit – who, in his exploration of sprawling levels, must engage in ‘brutal combat’ with other animals he meets, including vicious wolves, rats, cats and dogs.

A comic that aims to give greater depth to the game’s background is available to read online.

Game In Development

Now for the big drawback: the game is currently in active development and is considered alpha quality.

Because of this Wolfire, the developers of Overgrowth, warn that anyone thinking of buying the game before its final release should be prepared to encounter bugs and performance issues. Similarly, many planned features, such as a storyline-driven campaign mode, are yet to be implemented.

“If you want to play through a polished campaign, you may want to wait until the game is fully completed,” they add.

But that’s no reason to split hares; the bulk of the game mechanics are already in place, with Wolfire saying players can “experiment with the easy-to-use modding tools, and fighting in the arena.” Plus, as each new alpha is released, you will find more and more in-game features become available.

You can find out more info on the current state of the game, along with additional details of the sale, in the video below.
