T-Mobile USA is the latest mobile network to be announced as a member of the Ubuntu Touch Carrier Advisory Group.
The network is said to reach nearly 300 million Americans at present.
As a member of the advisory group T-mobile USA will be able to discuss and influence the development of Ubuntu for smartphones.
While membership of the CAG is not a commitment to ship, members do get confidential information on handsets, release dates and other launch information.
T-Mobile joins a growing list of carriers who have signalled interested in the OS. Last week Australia’s largest mobile network – Telstra – was announced as a member.
