Ubuntu One users who also happen to own a Nokia N9 don’t need to go without on-the-go access to their files for much longer.

Ubuntu One developer Stuart Langridge has published initial work on an unofficial port of the Ubuntu One Files app to the popular MeeGo-based handset.

“I plan to, at some point, get this into the Nokia Store. I also plan to implement other features as and when I need them,” he writes on his blog. “That will likely include uploading of files, caching, automatic upload of photographs, and the like.”

The app can be downlaoded from Stuart’s blog @ kryogenix.org/code/u1fn9/.
