Do you own any books about Ubuntu?

The first one I ever bought was Ubuntu Unleashed 2008 (covering Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10) – and it taught me a great deal about using, configuring and getting involved in Ubuntu.

Although much of it went over my head at the time, and the rapid pace of Ubuntu meant large swathes of it became outdated rather quickly, I still, on occasion, find myself referring back to it.

The author of that book, Matthew Helmke, recently announced that the 7th edition in the series, ‘Ubuntu Unleashed 2012, is now available to buy.

Helmke notes that the topics covered by the book are aimed at ‘intermediate to advanced users‘. If the content is like that of the 2008 edition I’d agree – although sometimes there’s nothing like being thrown in at the deep intermediate end, right?

The book retails for £33.99 (Kindle edition £21.50) and can be found on Amazon and other online bookstores.
