A new development snapshot of up-and-coming Twitter application Polly has been made available for download.
This pre-alpha, now at version 0.93.0, adds support for ‘real-time updates’ in most streams (home, mentions, home+replies, retweeted by me, etc)
Realtime updating mean you no longer need to manually refresh a stream in order to see the latest tweets or mentions.
Instead, tweets appear pretty almost as soon as they are posted – or in the case of deletion as quickly as a mistake is noticed!

Download
Polly Pre-Alpha 3.0 can be installed in Ubuntu 11.04 and 11.10 by using the Polly Unstable Builds PPA.
To do this, add ‘ppa:conscioususer/polly-unstable’ to your Software Sources, run an update, and then install ‘Polly’ from the Ubuntu Software Centre.
As a pre-alpha application you should not expect Polly to be reliable, free of bugs or otherwise. Any bugs you encounter should be reported here.
