Last week Ubuntu’s Andrea Cimitan, showed off some initial improvements to Ubuntu’s overlay scrollbars bound for inclusion in Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin.
Further to last weeks demoed changes Cimi has also been working hard, adding: –
- Subtle animations and timeouts
- Animated “jump to” scrolling
- Retracting ‘tail’ when thumb is hidden
- Smart timeout to reduce visual clutter
Overlay Scrollbar Changes PPA
Ubuntu 11.10 only users who wish to preview the new changes can do so by adding the following PPA to ‘System Sources’.
