GNOME developer Raluca has been working on bringing the cool video effects from webcam app ‘Cheese’ over to Empathy‘s video chat window.
The work will means you’ll soon be able to show your self to the world looking like a badly rendered cartoon; appear in black and white to hide your tired eyes from a potential new date; or scare your auntie by making half your face bulge during a call.
Raluca’s code has been submitted to Empathy for review, and, should it pass, will feature in a future release of the IM client.
