Hector Martin (aka marcan42 on YouTube) has created – and demoed – a free, open-source driver for Microsoft’s ‘Kinect’ camera dubbed ‘Libfreenect’.
His self-described ‘horribly hacky’ Kinect driver currently supports the depth and RGB cameras but, shopping list wise, he is keen to integrate support for the servo and accelerometer as well as tackling audio.
