The first alpha release of Opera’s flagship web browser has been made available.
Extensions
Unusually for a new browser release the onus in this release is not on speed but on the newly introduced ‘Extensions’ framework.
14 extensions are available – at the the time writing - in the Opera Extensions gallery @ addons.labs.opera.com/addons/extensions/.
As we mentioned in previous coverage the installation, positioning and UI of extensions is almost identical to that of Google Chrome/ium.
It wouldn’t be fair to judge the potential for Opera Extensions on the (very) slim-pickings available today so I’ll leave any further comment to you.
