The popular desktop-YouTube application ‘Minitube’ has added support for video downloading in the latest release.

How to download video with Minitube 1.2

• Search for a video
• Click the ‘download’ icon to download the video you are viewing
• Press the ‘downloads’ button in the status area to check on your download queue or set your preferred download location
• Video’s are downloaded in .mp4 format.

Other new features

Minitube 1.2 has also added support for media keys in GNOME, comes with many bug fixes and, for OS X users, an improved visual look.

Download

You can download and install the latest release from source or as a binary. Alternatively you can add the following PPA maintained by Ferramosca Roberto which provides updated Minitube packages.

• sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ferramroberto/minitube
• sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install minitube
