Elementary for Firefox theme released

The wildly popular Elementary theme for Firefox we shared news of earlier this week is now available to download.

The theme seamlessly integrates Ubuntu’s default web browser into an Elementary themed desktop and now has custom options for tab positions, etc.

I’m no doubt being a dumb-dumb but … how do you actually install this into firefox, once downloaded ? I can’t find out, even after a web search (it’s not from the Mozilla add-ons site, so installation isn’t automatic…)

just unzip it some where, and then choose one file from the three ( top, mac, win) and drag it to firefox, a prompted window will pop up and asks your confirmation before installing.

This is great, but how do I turn it off?

  • Noob

Easy once you know how ! Thanks for the quick reply guys. Very elegant theme indeed.

App tabs are white in 4.0, I’ll stick with the elementary theme I found here: https://addons.mozilla.org/z/en-US/firefox/addon/7293/

its in your addon list rather than your themes

Although this is one of the better styles I have seen for firefox I don’t like the default bookmark icon or the style of arrows for back and forward so I am returning to Chromifox extreme carbon.

If you have had a different theme running other than default this seems to cause issue, simple go to add-ons/ themes and choose default, restart Firefox. (The elementry theme is added to add-ons and not themes.)

    No Firefox 4 support…. :(

The beta of Firefox 4 is perfectly usable and never crashes. I have been using it for months now. Can you make this theme support it please? Its not long now until Firefox 4 is released so you may as well be prepared for it.

make stylish script with this code:

    .tab-icon-image {display:block!important}

working at it and soon in update with also some nice fautures ;)

Great, very much looking forward to it. The amount of themes for Firefox 4 is very limited at the moment. Im actually running the default theme because of the lack of good themes at the moment.

Since I love the elementary design and Im running it as a Gnome theme, I really want it for Firefox 4 as well. So …. eagerly standing by. :)

  • Seahorse Pip

thanks and keep watching it will get a lot updates in next days ;)

  • Eric

Sure could use an elementary Chrome theme :(

  • Tim

Mhh, this does not work for me. I still have the tabs without favicon

  • Anonymous

I’m not a mac fan. But I do like nice themes. And right now, your theme is the best looking theme out there.

  • Dante

Does not look bad with the Ambience beta theme either!…rather matches Nautlius Elementary, which is lovely :P

  • http://mpscripts.com Thomas Boxley

I’d use this if there was an Ambiance version.

Nice looking, but I don’t like because it hide the menu

  • Marcelo

Really excellent. Combined with elementary persona theme is better.

Now i just want to remove the standard “home” icon becasuse now i have two: elementary home icon and firefox home icon, but from firefox menu editor i can not disable firefox’s home default icon…
