I can't see any advance to one or the other, so I stay with RedShift. And why would one choose the one over the other? Is this just to let the world know how good Linux is at devision; creating multiple solutions for the same problem? Just like Gstreamer and the likes? Or like KDE, Gnome, Xfce, LXDE, IceWM etc?
