Welcome to a much belated post on the ace ‘Ubuntu UserDay’ that have been taking place over the last day or so (timezone depending). Sadly I have only just become aware of them, thanks to sebsebseb in the #OMG!Ubuntu! irc channel! It’s not an understatement to say I am gutted that I failed to mention this sooner….

This is a call to drop what ever it is you’re doing and get involved. There are plenty of sessions left today, running all the way to the early hours of the morning UTC time.

Ubuntu UserDay aims to to help you: –

  • learn how to install Ubuntu
  • find equivalent programs in Ubuntu
  • learn how to get help
  • learn the basics of how to use Ubuntu
  • learn how to get involved in the community

The sessions take place in #ubuntu-classroom and #ubuntu-classroom-chat IRC channels (see here for some info on getting started with IRC) and there are still plenty of great sessions left – so take a peek at the time table (wiki.ubuntu.com/UserDays) and get involved. I’ll probably even see you in a session or two!
