Linux powers 91% of the worlds top supercomputers

With the biannual list of the top 500 supercomputers the world over released, the following screenshot of a graph showing the operating systems used in those 500 peta-flop crunching machines, and produced by the University of California Berkeley, makes for an impressive visual glance at Linux's dominance in Super Computing. image

Sadly Ubuntu doesn't feature in the list breakdown, but given these rigs are used for number-crunching rather than World of Goo and twitter that's no surprise!image

    if there was a real market on supercomputer operating systems, windows would find a way in. so don’t get too far. Btw, this fact makes me really proud of linux.

    Linux is awesome and it doesnt lag like windows. And its basically ideal for everyone. But this is awesome news for the Linux world.. It wont be long until Mac OS, and Windows is thrown out the door because they are over taken by Linux.

    But knowing Apple and Microsoft they would probably developer there own Distro of linux
