Danny Piccirillo’s rockin’ post-install guide for Lucid

Danny Piccirillo has posted an awesome Lucid post-install guide on his blog that covers a lot of cool stuff that you can do with Ubuntu 10.04 after installing it, including a great list of quality applications and easy instructions making use of apt URLs.

Check out his table of contents to give you some idea of what he covers:

  • Managing Applications
  • Basics
  • Eye Candy
  • Desktop Functionality
  • Web Browsing
  • Multimedia Creation & Editing
  • Multimedia Playback
  • Learning
  • Time Management
  • Donating CPU Power
  • Images and Publishing
  • Games
  • Filesharing
  • Communication
  • System Utilities
  • Security & Privacy
  • Proprietary & Restricted Software
  • Explore, Customize, Personalize!
I’d love to see it published as a downloadable PDF as I’m sure many people will find it useful!

That list is incredible – it’s going to take me a while to even read the whole thing!
Looks my new installs of Lucid are going to pretty tricked-out.

I made a pdf of the guide as you wished. The picture quality is a little low. But still very legible. All the links work.
