Canonical has reversed its earlier decision to set Yahoo! as the default search engine in Firefox for Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

The Lucid Lynx will, as in previous releases, ship with Google set as the default search engine in the default browser.

Reasons for the switch-ahoo back? Rick Spencer, Ubuntu Desktop team, says it was based on ‘user experience, user preferences, and costs and benefits for Ubuntu and the browsers and other projects that make up Ubuntu.’

Or to put it another way, they found most users where manually switching the search back to Google!
