The second beta of LXDE based Ubuntu spin Lubuntu has been made available.
Whilst Lubuntu won’t be gaining “official” status as an Ubuntu derivative this cycle (see here for more on that) the development of Lubuntu continues apace.
Major changes since Lubuntu Beta 1: –
- Auto-login at install time
- Support for encrypted home directory
- Up-to-date lxdm, libfm and pcmanfm2
If intending to test Lubuntu for an extended period of time it will be worth adding the Lubuntu PPA in order to get updates to Lubuntu that are not yet held within the Official Ubuntu repositories.
