Excuse the bad pun, but I’ve been poking around with the music player Guayadeque this morning. A week back OMG! readers chose the new icon for it and you know what? You guys chose the right icon – it looks awesome in action.

    See?!
It has a better symmetric-shape than the other without the blue circle.

Looks great! That splash screen is particularly slick :D

I still prefer Banshee, especially now that all my problems with it have been fixed, but I still use Guayadeque for it’s excellent intelligent random mode thing, it’s ace ;D

Ha, my comment (which I posted an hour after yours) is pretty much word-for-word what you wrote. So… good thoughts, sorry for stealing them… Here’s to hoping I didn’t read yours first, then half-forget about it. Stupid subconscious.

I’m very pleased to see my icon (and splashscreen!) in action. I’m also very glad to have contributed to the visual design of a great new media player :)

Further evidence that the community makes prettier stuff than Canonical’s crack team of highly paid design people.

To be fair, there are some incredibly talented people at Canonical. The trouble is that they don’t get to work on whatever they want.

The new icon is great, now is time to change the name to something shorter and nicier (Guayadeque is awful, man!)

old icon here. what i’m doing wrong?

New logo is in svn. From what I know, ppa haven’t been updated yet.
Stay tune, compile or download source from svn extract png and swap it(if you’re very impatient).

Personally the guayadeque player rocks, particularly with the new theme and all. but i still prefer gmusicbrowser. its pretty powerful and stable.

Same here. It would be great if gmusicbrowser could get an icon makeover as well.

Exactly, the llama icon is not very impressive

It’s so delicious!! I almost don’t care about its functionality at this point, since it would just look SO GOOD with my desktop. *drools empathically*

Quick question, I’ve never really switched out icons for an application so I’m having a little trouble. I’ve checked out the source from subversion and updated the icon image at the following locations:

    /usr/share/app-install/icons/guayadeque.png
    /usr/share/pixmaps/guayadeque.png

However I’m still seeing the old icon in the tray, and the default application image in docky. The only place that the icon seems to be updated is in the applications menu. Is there any other locations I need to stick this image? A search for the image only turned up those two locations.

    Thanks!

Ah found it, I had to update the file:

      /usr/share/applications/guayadeque.desktop

by replacing the full path in icon section to be just: ‘guayadeque’, however the tray icon is still showing the old icon.
