Besides my previous comment, I think the top-red-orange-light-thingy is quite misleading, it seems to be indicating something on my top panel. I also spot some color-banding on the left side, although I don’t have the best screen atm.

But, we’ve come a long way! No more running away from the default look.

I hate blatant ripoffs. there is a sheer number of gtk themes on gnome-look.org that are analogs to aqua or aero. I’m cool with a few of these look alikes as long as they are made for the right intentions of making noobs feel at home. i’m ok with ports as well.. but i hate the 70% of the other stuff that frankly doesnt look original and looks like a bunch of uninspired poorly designed crap. deviantart however, seems to be a better source of more originality and quality work. ….and most of the stuff there should be taken as the source of inspiration for new designs for themes and the like.
as for the ms word icon: I never actually paid attention to that in the human theme. but i think its also like that in the elementary icon theme if i recall properly.
and yeah. growl just happens to be more popularly used on macs. so my mistake with that.

yeah my mistake on that. growl can also be used in linux, in fact, i used it once and found it to be a waste of my time. but yeah, i got accustomed to seeing growl paired with osx and therefore referred to it as a mac like notification system.

It’s too similar with that of LinuxMint’s 8.0 & OpenSUSE’s 11.0 default wallpapers, the only difference is their color.

me being a little bit dramatic doesn’t change the fact that ubuntu styling trends are obviously going to the macos yard. well, i’m kind’of disappointed they drop the orange way – I always liked it (still don’t understand why so many users hate it) – for me, the orange was the dessert, the warmth, the… africa, it was _ubuntu_ as the whole conception (i.e. in the original meaning of the word). this new way is… well, too cold, to plain, too… business. Well it’s just the feeling of the moment, let’s see how it ends on april 29.

Yeah, the lens flares aren’t doing it for me. If they were aiming to look professional, they probably shouldn’t have designed something that I could have made after using photoshop for 3 minutes when i was 11.

I voted no, not because I don’t like the theme, it is quite good, but I always go for black / dark windows, and wallpapers, because I like the icons to stand out, and black never goes out of fashion. I love the dust in suspension wallpaper from Karmic! but have the black board one
