Wallbox To Get new icons

Wallbox – a desktop Facebook notification-come-interaction applet-come-application – proved quite popular when we posted about it a few days ago.

In that post one thing i hate was the icon. It was some form of red square that didn’t scream “FACEBOOK!!!” at me so we posted some cool icons to replace them with.
New Version = New Icons
The developer of Wallbox has since let me know that new icons will be implemented in the next release!

Whilst they still don’t scream “FACEBOOK!!” at me they are a massive improvement on the current icon set and should look awesome if you use the Humanity icon set.

Those are absolutely horrible. Why oh why would they decide to go with an olive green tone? That won’t go well with any theme at all, and it has absolutely nothing to do with Facebook. Also, what’s up with the phone booth? Icons are supposed to be culturally neutral – meaning that you understand the metaphor regardless of where you are from – and I can assure you that post boxes (I’m guessing that’s what it is) don’t look anything like that where I come from. And even if they did, the app is supposed to watch my facebook wall. Not my email.

The ones you posted a while back are A LOT better.

I’m pretty sure the green is just a background…the actual icon will be humanity-esque, transparent, and /not/ lime green.

I just wish wallbox actually worked when the taskbar is at the bottom of the screen rather than the top :(

I have one suggestion for future versions, I have a dual monitor setup and currently the window placement for the second window which pops up when you hover over an item on the main window is hard to read due to the monitor bevels. Maybe placing the second box on the second monitor, or to the left instead keeping it on the main monitor would work better.

Thanks for the app so far anyway its really useful :D
