Display Thunderbird Unread Count On Docky

‘Docky Unread Count’ for Thunderbird adds an unread e-mail count badge onto your Thunderbird icon in Docky.

The add-on uses the Docky Dbus API to add the badge so there’s nothing to install or compile in Docky itself – it works just using the Thunderbird extension and the api. Pretty awesome!

Features
Right now the add-on only displays an unread badge on the icon. In later releases it may also gain right-click options such as a list of unread mails (similar to the GMail addon) or quick links to compose, inbox, etc.

Docky developer rtz pointed this add-on in my direction, so thanks!

am I the only one who still uses evolution? the one frustrating thing about the docky release cycle is that aren’t nailing all the default Ubuntu apps first.

I can’t seem to get it to work. I got Python installed and as far as I can see I also have Dbus for Python and I also have the stand-alone Docky too.

Never mind, I just found out that it only works with Thunderbird 3 right now. I’m still using 2.0.0.23 and the error logs say something like Subfolders have no properties.

For some reason it was working when I was using the latest version on TB the unstable version bu with the latest stable version it hasn’t been working kind off strange…

Does anyone have thoughts on how to fix this? Thunderbird is apparently missing it’s icon in my system. Both in Gnome-Do and Docky if I run “thunderbird” I get no icon. If I create a launcher for “thunderbird” and put that on my Docky panel, the icon I chose displays but the unread plugin doesn’t work.
