VLC Video Editor In Action [Video]

Despite not being able to get the ruddy thing to compile, VLMC has attracted a lot of interest since we first published the news yesterday.

The VLMC team appear to have a YouTube channel with this self-described demo video on it. The application in the video is the real deal, so take a peek at what is sure to become one of 2010's most talked about applications!: -

(thanks for the find Conor!)

“Of course, as if by magic every other ubuntu blog suddenly discovered it themselves an hour later. Don’t get off your backsides to find the news guys, we’ll keep doing it for you…”

I actually heard the news first at Learning Ubuntu. THEN, I saw it here. I also saw it at the Ubuntu Forums by Resu first, who writes for Learning Ubuntu.

Makes you think who’s copying who.

dont get me wrong, I like Yanni. It’s just a different thing to this very song IMHO.

I hope this is good, intuitive and easy to use because the current state of affairs with video editing on ubuntu is pretty bad.

If you want something pretty great right now, I’ve become a big fan of another editor that’s been featured on this site: OpenShot. There are several articles here about it… look for the one that references the “bleeding edge PPA” for it. Quite stable for me so far, and pretty full-featured and intuitive for something that’s not yet at v1.0.
