Sublime XSplash Theme – “Clean Xsplash”

If you're bored of your current XSplash theme, bored of having your desktop wallpaper set as your XSplash background or even just tired of the other gorgeous XSplashes we've shown you, try 'Clean Xsplash' by Maike05. It's strikingly beautiful.

Download @ Gnome-look.org 

Install

Unpack the .zip and palce in /usr/share/images/xsplash

    Now this should how an splash screen should look like. Well coordinated colors and contrast.

    I vote this be the default for lucid.

      I agree, this looks way better than default xsplash. However, Lucid will use Plymouth technology, instead of Xsplash. http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2009/12/lucid-to-use-plymouth-non-intel-users.html

      I’m sure the design elements could still be used.

        Xsplash will STAY. It seems there’s a lot of confusion about this point… It’s usplash being replaced.

          I’m currently running the latest ubuntu-boot package [from PPA] that’s on track for being in Lucid and I believe I have no Xsplash anymore. It could be that it’s still pre-release, but I now get the simple white-on-black Ubuntu logo for a few seconds, then GDM is loaded.
