New Wave 0.8.2 Released

Popular GTK+ theme 'New Wave' saw a new release today.

Version 0.8.2 bags itself a ton of changes and improvements, including improved text colour on statusbar, tooltips, etc, and restyled frames for various applications.

Full change-log can be found on gnome-look

It’s easier to see changes than read about them, so here are a few screenshots: -

The New Wave configuration tool remain a unique and blessed addition to the set.

New Wave Pack
The new wave pack also available comes brimming full of extra new wave goodness including Emerald themes, a firefox theme, a compiz-fusion profile (set of effects) and several other odds and ends.

Worth downloading if you love this theme but a wee bit too much if you don’t.

Download
The theme can be download from launchpad or gnome-look.org

Thanks to Dido

Imho, one of the best GTK theme available.

Any chance of possibly seeing a post about GTK+/Metacity themes that allow us to control at least some of the colors? I can’t tell whether New Wave is in that category, or the frustrating “find some cool elements only to discover an unappealing color [or far more often, grayscale/close] is forced for everything else” that most things at gnome-look seem to be.

I don’t remember seeing it mentioned here, but Merry Slickmas recently changed from being a preview mock-up to full release not that long ago… It’s a perfect example of mixing excellent graphical work with user control of all non-customized areas. Apologies if I somehow overlooked your post if you did put one up.

It’s a good theme, no doubt. But am I the only one here who thinks it’s far from being the best?

In my opinion, this is the best theme available for the GNOME desktop.
