He’s doing a dog analogy instead of Apple’s steriotype analogy.
Poodles are rich, preppy dogs, signifying the expensive, yet sexy Macs.
Maybe German Shephard or something for Ubuntu, signifying loyalty or some shit(maybe Labrador?)
And Windows would be… Rottweiler? What kinda dog is all business but fails easily?

i didn’t say they want to kill Firefox, i said they were and still supporting it (just not as before). and i said that when Firefox failed at some parts they stepped in, that doesn’t mean that Firefox is a failure, they both complete each other. so we both are right, but you see the Good Google and i see the Evil Google :)

You’re misunderstanding Google on this one IMO.
Google does not step in because someone has failed, they step in because they feel like they need a better experience. In no way are they going to just let Firefox die (they don’t even have the option for that as Firefox is doing just peachy, and are not trying to kill it in any way – since FF market share has risen since Chrome was made). They do however understand that competition breeds excellence, and as such have decided to make a move.

Also about Ubuntu: Chrome OS is in no way a direct competitor to Ubuntu. The market in which they are competitive is in no way the core market for Ubuntu. And yet again it is a way for Google to create more competition in the market, and better all products. (for example: Look at Internet Explorer. It has been playing catch up, but it’s doing it better and better lately, forced by competition).

Google only do their stuff when others fail at doing it. take Firefox as an example, Google supported and still supporting Firefox, but when saw that Firefox failed at some parts like speed of startup, speed of loading, speed of javascript engine, Google stepped in.

so to sum it up, Google don’t want to wast time to do everything, its non-sense but if Ubuntu failed with Google’s measures, Google will enter for sure. but till that happen Ubuntu should take advantage of Google.

im sure thats at the top of their priorities. “Made everything brown and ugly.”

i’m actually a big fan of Karmics default look. i changed the shade of brown slightly after a few weeks, but thats it.

I was going to make a comment about having to wait until Gnome 3.0 before they sort out the theme once and for all, but fact is they will probably make that brown and ugly as well. :-(
