Just go to "/usr/share/inkscape/icons". Then change the name of the "inkscape_icons.svg" to for example "inkscape_icons2.svg". Then change the name of the file "icons.svg" to "inkscape_icons.svg". After that load Inkscape and you will see much nicer interface. For UI I can't help :(P.S. make sure you have root permisions ! You can change the icons to look tango style, they match really good with Humanity icons. Just go to “/usr/share/inkscape/icons”. I just ran a live session of Mandriva 2010 that came out way earlier this month and it includes v.0.47 (and I'm pretty sure I installed Inkscape 0.47 before yesterday in Ubuntu).
