Inkscape is pretty good but my main problem with it is the UI and the Icons

You can change the icons to look tango style, they match really good with Humanity icons. Just go to “/usr/share/inkscape/icons”. Then change the name of the “inkscape_icons.svg” to for example “inkscape_icons2.svg”. Then change the name of the file “icons.svg” to “inkscape_icons.svg”. After that load Inkscape and you will see much nicer interface. For UI I can’t help :(

P.S. make sure you have root permisions !

Hasn’t version 0.47 been available for a while now in Linux? I just ran a live session of Mandriva 2010 that came out way earlier this month and it includes v.0.47 (and I’m pretty sure I installed Inkscape 0.47 before yesterday in Ubuntu). Or were these distros using the beta version?

Anyway, the snapping toolbars make my day. Gotta love Inkscape :)

I just realized that my version on Inkscape is 0.47, it probably upgraded automagically :)

I love using Inkscape. I use it for making things around my website. There is a great video tutorial site here… http://screencasters.heathenx.org/

    Hi,
Really Inkscape is full of features. It supports many advanced SVG features and great care is taken in designing a streamlined interface. It is very easy to edit nodes, perform complex path operations, trace bitmaps and much more.Thank you very much for informing a great news.
