Use Google Translate On Your Desktop With pyGtranslator

pyGtranslator is a desktop application that utilizes Google Translate and lets you translate €“ from your desktop! Nice!

Simple paste your text, select the €œto€ and €œfrom€ language and hit translate.

Of course, translations are only as good as the math behind the translators, but Google Translate has a pretty good track record over similar services from other companies. I've found it particularly good with Swedish.

      It’s in Jaunty, too. ^^

With this program you can translate text, web pages and request suggestions using online translation engines. Currently supported translators are Google, Yahoo, Open-Tran and FreeTranslation. Features include tabbed consulting, automatically copy and paste from/to clipboard, expandible in a very easy way by writing translator modules, easy to use and to configure, localized (currently English, Italian), good integration with free desktop environments (mostly in GNOME).

It isn’t actually as good as I first thought – if there are any accents on your letters the text goes all garbled.

    Handy application.

GnomeDo’s translate plugin can also do miracles in translation.
Just select text and type the command.
It is also using web and using google translate.
