EarCandy – Smart Volume Management App

EarCandy is a smart volume manager for PulseAudio that fades applications in and out based on your current activity.

It will automatically mute your music when a Movie or a YouTube video starts. And will mute the video when a Skype call comes in.

EarCandy can 'sniff' out applications to tell what kind of app they are meaning less work for you!

when I installed it, it actually installed /usr/bin/ear_candy
but the menu command it added was just “earcandy” no underscore…

Very nice. I have been looking for that!

It has a memory leak, pretty bad. At one point it was using 1.2 GB of laptop RAM. And changing the rules isn’t exactly intuitive. I’m going to wait a while before trying it again.

I installed it. But, it is not launching in my karmic box.
