    8 Minimal GTK Themes

  • Emil

Hmm the first two themes doesn’t seem to work for me. I can install them, but they don’t show up in the themes menu. When I try to install them again, a message says it “can’t copy directory over directory”, so appearently is has been copied over?

The second theme, T3, I tried saying “apply theme immediately”, and it worked. But it still don’t show up under themes, so If I change themes, I can’t go back to it.

Thanks for the list though, they look sweet! Just wish somebody can help me here?

it’s -so- annoying when that happens!

First of all, go to your ‘home’ folder and press CTRL+H to show hidden folders. Go into the .themes folder and delete any folder named like the theme you’re having the problem with.

You can try reinstalling again now, and it should work.

Thanks for the reply! Doesn’t work though. If i, for example, drags one of the Pucko theme directories over in the “Appearance–>Theme”, I can only apply it when it asks me if I want to keep the old one or use the newly installed one. It Doesn’t show up under themes, and I tried to delete the files in the .themes dir several times now :/

Just grabbed this from the artists FAQ:

Extract the theme folder to the /home/your-username/.themes/ folder (ctrl+h to view hidden folders.) If you don’t have a .themes folder you can create one. Then enter the settings for your appearance and choose to customize your current layout. Select the right widgets and metacity theme (If you’re on xfce4 you can’t use the metacity theme unless you install metacity and replace xfwm4 with it.).

I’ve installed themes before that “don’t show up” because they’re essentially just widgets and metacity. It’s annoying at first…
