The first Alpha of Ubuntu’s next version – 9.10 AKA Karmic Koala ” will be released on May 14th ” less than one month after the final release Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope.
Whilst this initial release will be rudimentary at best, it will start the 6 month process of developing, testing and finalising the most highly anticipated version of Ubuntu since the distributions inception back in 2004.
Karmic Koala will feature a newly designed login interface, theme, new boot screen and kernel loading technology and will ship with Gnome 2.28.0.
