Contact

You can also e-mail us direct using contact@omgubuntu.co.uk

Got a hot tip? An application you think we should write about? Want to share an awesome tweak with the world? Whatever you want to say you can say it in the contact form below. I can’t promise that I’ll blog every tip nor can I reply to every message but whatever you take the time to say it is much appreciated!

Note: If suggesting a tip or news from another site that has been posted in the last few days, be aware people may have already read it. There is no value in spending my energy writing a story people have already read and most people don’t want to read something that they already know about!

To help us out be sure to also leave the name you want to be credited with (perhaps to hide your super embarrassing e-mail handle?) and a link you want that name to go to (your twitter, blog, etc). ALSO try to include a link or source!

    Still doesn’t seem to work.
Dood, have you seen the Media Centre called “enna”?

The contact area above seems to not work… so:

    GDM2Setup available now on Launchpad:

A new utility that has gained a fair following in it’s short debut – it allows users to access much of the missing functionality in the newer GDM (login window) that ships with Karmic Ubuntu. Some members of the Ubuntu Desktop team have suggested that we request a post here on OMGU to increase awareness of it’s existence and help people to know that an answer IS out there for their gmdsetup woes.

The project is a full functioning and tested app with an active PPA available – located at https://launchpad.net/gdm2setup.

Please consider posting something about this useful new application here as well? Your support is greatly appreciated. Our goal is to get it into Lucid for release.

    Hi there OMG Ubuntu!

Contact form is not working, that’s why i’m using Comments!!!

I’m a Developer (i’ve worked for emesene / emesene2 project) and i’m searching for testers for my first brand-new project: Adsense-Monitor.
Sometimes you need to monitor your adsense earnings, but using the adsense home-page is frustrating: it’s better to have a trayicon with some notifications. My project is recently born and i need some testers for 1.0 release.
Adsense-Monitor is free and opensource and multiplatform. For more hints take a peek at
    adsense-monitor.blogspot.com
    sources are hosted at
    code.google.com/p/adsense-monitor/

    I’m searching for packagers/developers/testers

    Thank you for your attention!!!

I don’t know if it’s new or old, but look at that Banshee icon! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5500915/cap.png

I’m not sure your comment form is working, I have tried several times and I keep getting a message stating I’ve typed in the wrong code. Anyway, I shall post my comment on here until the issue is resolved ^_^

    “Hello there,
You have an awesome website and I love to read the articles you post.
I travel quite a lot and would like to request that you add a mobile version of your page? It uses a lot of bandwidth on my mobile and it would be insane if you had a stripped down version :)

With whatever you decide, I shall still be a regular visitor to your website whether it’s on my laptop or mobile :)

    Keep being awesome! :)

    Lee Jarratt”

I’ve had it with that comment form now. You’re not the first to have issues with it, but you most certainly are the last!

Mobile site, mobile site – yes! A few others have recently suggested this and i too think it’s a great idea. I’ve finally written it on a sticky a note (the way i organize my to-do’s) so I shall get on to making one pretty snappy!

Well I noticed you have a QR code that links to a mobile site. I went on it with my droid very briefly and thought it worked well. So I’m confused lol.

When I’m bored and I’m not home I visit omgubuntu with my cellphone (a cheap one), so thanks for that mobile version :)

You need to have http://m.omgubuntu.co.uk as the mobile site.

I do. Sadly i don’t have the combined $50 a month to support it. (i’d have to pay for a sub-domain via my hosting AND pay to enable custom domains via mobifuse. )

You guys should really have your own twitter. It would be sooooo easier to follow your great news and stuff!

That seems steep for a subdomain… how big is the site and how much traffic do you usually get, anyhow (not to be too nosy, I work for a web development company)?

That site always crashed on my HTC Hero… Now I have the EVO and will have to try again, but generally it’s not bee na good experience. I use a mobile RSS reader to subscribe that way I never miss an article.

it’s largely moot now as we’re just about to launch our new site (complete with mobile version).
